This primary bedroom mood board was so much bun to design! My inspiration for this space was cozy! Who doesn’t love to go home after a long day and relax in a cozy bedroom? I think the bedroom should be a place for relaxation and rejuvenation! I hope you enjoy this cozy primary bedroom mood board!
Make it Cozy
A lot goes into making a bedroom a cozy, calm, and relaxing. To create a cozy primary bedroom, it’s important to use light tones and colors. My inspiration for this mood board was coastal driftwood. I love the light feeling of coastal tones and the colors often associated with them. I chose an array of light creams and grays paired with faded wood tones.
Choose the Right Colors
As I was saying above, cream gray and driftwood is my color palette for this cozy primary bedroom mood board because I was inspired by the coast. However, I think color is super important! I wanted something muted and pastel to combine effortlessly with the faded character of this space.
Sea Foam Green
To add elegance and vibrance to this space I started with the Tilly Bed from Wayfair in the Zuma Textured Sea Foam Linen Fabric. This is the perfect color to bring in the feel of the ocean. I love vacationing on the coast and taking in the calming sounds of the ocean waves lapping the shore. To me this luscious sea-foam color takes me to the coast in my mind. I also added a pop of sea-foam green with the Seaglass Green Tweed Textured Pillow Cover from Etsy. The pillow balances out the neutral tones that are prevalent in this design and pairs nicely with the bed.
Keep it Cream
Cream is the most prevalent part of the design! The first cream element I chose is the Stepped Medallion Easy Care Rug from West Elm. The other major cream element of this design is the Harbour Natural Flange Swivel Glider from Crate and Barrel. I usually use this chair in nursery designs. However, I love its softness and thought it would be perfect for this cozy primary bedroom. I love the action of the glider. It reminds me of the gentle ocean swells! Lastly, I opted for the cream Antoni Table Lamp from Bed Bath and Beyond. I love the weathered feel of the lamp. Its texture and color bring relaxation to the room.
Ground it with Gray
This design needed earthiness and weight, so I selected a variety of gray decor to balance the space. First, I found the Dreward Distressed Gray Table Lamp from Bed Bath and Beyond. I find nature to be very calming so I wanted to incorporate things that remind me of nature. I love the stone texture of the lamp provides earthiness and grounds the space. Also, I wanted to incorporate another gray aspect to balance with the stone gray lamps and the gray tones in the rug, so I selected a Pewter Gray Linen Blend Pillow Cover from Etsy. I find that gray is a perfect juxtaposition to the sea-foam green and the light, airy creams in this cozy primary bedroom mood board.
Settle on the Calming Textures
As you know, the goal for this design is to create a cozy calming environment and that my inspiration for that is the coast. To bring this design to life I wanted to selected some unique textures that bring a calming, grounded vibe to the space. As I discussed above, the gray, stone-textured lamps were perfect for adding this rustic charm.
Weathered Woods and Seagrass
Additionally, I love the coastal-inspired wood tones. Light, weathered woods and woven, seagrass textures bring calming, cozy energy to any space, especially a space inspired by the coast. To incorporate these elements I chose the Keane Weathered Natural Wood 6-Drawer Dresser and the Keane Weathered Natural Wood Charging Nightstand. Both of these pieces are from Crate and Barrel! I absolutely love the weathered character of these! The color blends nicely with a coastal aesthetic and the wood tone is elegant yet relaxed.
Seagrass is one of my favorite ways to incorporate coastal elements into a design. For this space, I selected the Quinn Round Mirror from Pottery Barn because I feel that it compliments the general character of the space and elevates the calmness of this cozy primary bedroom. To further the coastal, cozy feel of this space I chose the Palecek Everly Coastal Beach Woven Natural Abaca Rope Pendant from Kathy Kuo Home.
