I love the beach and coastal style. There is something so calming about being near the water. Whether your house is located at the beach or you live inland, a coastal style is a great way to decorate. My favorite part of coastal style is the calm, neutral color palette and cozy vibes. When I think of coastal decor, I think of creams, beiges and blues. They pair so nicely and create a relaxed, easygoing aesthetic that is inviting, yet elegant. I hope you enjoy these coastal living room mood boards and get some inspiration for your coastal living room!

Modern Coastal Living Room
For this mood board, I wanted to bring together a coastal and modern style! I was inspired by luxury, modern beach homes that pair modern style with coastal living. This design is a little different from the others in this collection because it has more dark tones and modern lines. I chose a cream sofa for this design because of its elegance and sophistication. Then, I decided to pair it with a modernist coffee table. I love the arched shape of the coffee table’s legs. It adds an interesting, modern element to the space. Also, I opted for dark blue chairs. This color reminds me the Pacific Ocean. The depth of this blue inspired me to add some black wood tones and a black chandelier because I think it helps ground the space. Coastal artwork and a blue and beige rug finishes the space with a rich coastal modernism. This space would be great on or off the coast!

Light and Airy Coastal
My focus for this design was to create something light and open. This space brings the elements of the coast indoors. I chose the light blue sofa and pillows because thy remind me of the ocean. I love the water and the different shades of the ocean. This blue-gray color pairs nicely with the creams chairs, beige rug and the driftwood coffee table. These elements remind me of the sand. I love the washed feeling of this room. It reminds me of the weathering effect of the sea. This room is inviting, cozy and neutral. This design is coastal, but it also strongly draws from the modern-transitional elements. This design is perfect for a relaxed, yet elegant coastal living room, whether you live at the beach or not!

California Coastal
I love California! My husband and I have been vacationing on the California coast for years. It’s one of our favorite places in the country to visit. The California coast is massive and you can get a different flair all along the coast. However, the relaxed vibe and comfortable aesthetic makes for great design inspiration! For this room I chose a pair of light blue sofas. The two sofas make for a wonderful conversational area. Sectional sofas are nice, but I also love living rooms with conventional sofas arranged to facilitate conversation.
This design is perfect for a more formal living room where you can host guests or hang out as a family. I love the cream swivel chairs because they are soft and inviting. They brighten the room and fit perfectly in a conversationally oriented room. I chose this rug because it perfectly ties together the cream chairs and blue sofas. I love the woven texture of the coffee table because it adds a lovely textural element to the space. The rattan texture makes me think of the coast. Lastly, I opted for an array of pillows. I tried to incorporate a variety of colors, patterns and textures to play together.

Cozy Coastal Living Room
I think the living room should be one of the most inviting areas of the home. The living room is a great place to gather as a family and play games, watch movies or just talk. I think the living room should be cozy and fun! I tried to blend the modern-transitional and coastal designs to create a warm, neutral space. This design draws on a variety of neutral colors paired with light blues.
The neutral color palette adds warmth. A variety of wood tones adds intrigue and modern-transitional flair to the coastal design. The coffee table is one of my favorite elements. Its light wood pairs nicely with the cream rug, basket, and upholstery on the accent chairs. I love how the wooden, cane-back chairs brings cozy, inviting vibes to the living room. Also, the blue-gray tones in the sofa and pillows brings a softness and coastal element to the design.
